What is an “honest election”? It’s not a perfect election – that’s an impossible standard. But when everyone who is eligible to vote can vote and have their voice heard in a fair and secure system, that’s an honest election. When voters are confident that they know where the money is coming from to support candidates, that’s an honest election. When everyone plays by fair, common-sense rules, that’s an honest election. When everyone is held accountable, with enforceable penalties to deter bad behavior, that’s an honest election.
This Commission is dedicated to identifying and shining a spotlight on anything that keeps U.S. elections from being as fully honest as they can be.
